Section 3 Operation
This section provides abbreviated operating instructions for
the CombiFlash Torrent module. For complete instructions,
refer to Help menu option from PeakTrak’s main menu.
3.1 Accessory Kit
The Torrent is shipped with an accessory kit (60-5249-002).
Some of the kit components are used during installation.
Other components should be available for use with the system
whenever there is a need to change the configuration. Because
some of these components are needed to match the column and
solid load cartridge cap sizes, Teledyne Isco recommends that
you keep the kit near the Torrent.
Key components in this accessory kit are identified in sections
3.1.1 through 3.1.9.
3.1.1 Inlet and Outlet Fittings for Columns and Cartridges
The luer adapters match the inlet and outlet fittings to the
size of the column inlet and outlet. The Torrent was shipped
with fittings matched for 330 gram column sizes and smaller.
When using 750 gram columns or larger, the fittings must be
changed.
To change column luer adapters (top and bottom):
1. Unthread the knurled cap and remove the luer adapter
(Figure 3-1).
2. Align the new adapter with the key in the recess. Ensure
that the adapter is full seated in the recess.
3. Replace the knurled cap
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the other adapter.
